Looks nice Luc, I look forward to seeing it finished....I have been wanting to start mine as a KFOR Marder....just have to find the time.

Oh....it's not a TOW launcher....it is a Milan launcher.

Thank you Jason,
I edited my post...Mine is representing one in Germany. I knew the launcher is a Milan.....My mistake for thinking too much about a futur project: a canadian M113 with TOW launcher.

It's looking very nice, Luc. How heavy will you go with the weathering?

My only suggestion would be to thin the front fenders a bit, particularly on the sides, as the kit ones seem too thick.

Luc, you've done an excellent job so far. The extra detailing work is really nice and gives a lot to your model.
Now it deserves the resin track set from LionMarc Design !

Luc, EXCELLENT work! I'm a big fan of Bundeswehr AFVs (and softskins too) It looks beautiful, especially the Milan, most people get the colour wrong but you nailed the colour exactly! well done!

Looks very good, Luc. I am pleased to see that your painting skills have the same high level as your building skills.

Looking forward to see more

Hey thanks a lot for the comments guys ! Here what I have done lately: Added the side skirts, the tracks ( these are the kit's ones as I don't want to use any aftermarket parts for the project ). I have also replace the tow cables provided in the kit by using leads of electrical wires twisted together on the Dremel. The white pieces you see on the skirts are the skirts section retainer reproduced by using strip styrene. I also added a second coat of diluted black oil paint :

Here's the progress for the last days: Except for the Milan launcher, I have finished the different step of the drybrushing in the weathering process. More to come

Don't forget.....the cross on the convoy marker on the hull rear should be white.....not the camouflage colours.

Hi Jason,

I know that Jason, but the painting is not finished yet . You will see it painted in the next stage of the painting/weathering.
Thanks

The last 2 days I added some little details and work a bit more on the weathering. Using the reference pictures of the Marder in the field, I decided to "load" some different piece of equipment. So a tarp was made using lead foil from a bottle of wine, a camo net from a piece of gauze bandage+water+white glue+parsil flake. One of the picture I had was showing a broom secure on the hull. I liked the idea and reproduce one with styrene piece and hair brush. I also started to add the securing straps and their buckles on the hull using thiny pieces of masking tape. I'm also working on backpacks that will also be attach on the hull ( it's the white piece beside the camo net, but it's not finish yet). All those stuff will be painted soon..

I'm working also on a figure that will take place in the cupola. I used a bare head from Hornet, that I cut to be able to add a cap and use different figure pieces from my spare parts box to create a desired pose. I added some pockets using Tamiya putty, and shoulder flap using strip of masking tape. Ok, it may not look perfect, but I'm please with the result...More to come

Well, after more hours painting, weathering and detailling, here is the Marder on the last miles. Next will come the building of the base, but the beast itself is pretty much done. Still need to add the antennas though...With the help of my reference pics, I decided to set it up in the "agressor force" team. You can see here the camo net painted along with the backpack . I also added the tread ( is it how you call that ?) on the side of the hull that is used to hold the foliage in place . I used hair to reproduce it.

And here is the face freshly painted. Ok, it's not a museum quality, but I'm really sartisfied with it. More to come..

Hair! Great idea, never thought of using it. Looks stunningly good.

The figure is quite good. I like the eyes, although the white is a bit too white for me. Maybe a little wash/filter with pink or flesh tone could tone it down a bit. Also some colour on the eyebrows (also in a 'filtering' manner, don't overdo) would be nice.

The Marder looks very nice, although a bit too harshly drybrushed for my taste - but that's a personal thing. I like the camonet, looks very realistic, and it's nice to see the 'building'-steps of that one.

Succes with the base, I'll keep an eye on the updates, curious to see it finished!

Nice bit of weathering and the stowage is a good touch. Especially the broom.

Back to this project. This time I worked on the figure. I've painted the flecktarn pattern using water color. I also tried to paint the german national insigna on each sleeve. While not perfect, I'm satisfied with the result. Now I have to work on that headset...

Here is the recent work I did on the figure: Using reference photo, I have build a headphone set using piece of styrene, electrical wire and masking tape. It was them painted with acrylic color,

Quite nice!
I haven't been seeing drybrushing for a long time!
How did you work in order to paint the camo scheme?
I'm finishing a Luchs, but I'm a beginner with the airbrush and I'm looking for a way to make the tri-tonal NATO scheme!

OMG!!! Man, that is fracking awesome built there! I have to follow this when I start on mine. Beautiful!!!

I also like it because you scratch built the extra detailings instead of having PE. I still can't bring myself to pay for PE or resin parts.

Great work!!!

Ollie, I thinned my paint with Tamiya thinner. Some use alcool, but I never tried it. I just have very good result with the Tamiya thinner so I'll stick to it !!
Boxter, thank you for the comment. I have to say that I won third place at the SMHQ show held in Quebec in April.
As for detailing, I always try to scratchbuilt them with any kind of material I can think of. It's less expensive and you can be surprise at all you can do. But you have to get good reference pictures.

Thank again
