This is my Trumpeter IS-3m painted as an egyptian vehicle after the Yom kippur war. It has Friulmodel tracks and a Barrel depot gun. The other detailing was made with platric sheet, stretched sprue, copper foil and wires, phone wire, etc.

Outstanding work Cesar! Is it possible to see a close-up photo of your fuel tanks? I would love to see how you finished those.

Thank you Mike and Trevor.
About the fuel tanks: I not own a camera -and by the way, I forgot to mention in my original post that photos were taken by the nice people at Mig Productions, Thank you very much guys!-
If I can Iīll ask next week a friend in my modelling club to take some close-ups.
If you are refering to the construction, the fuel drums quick realese mechanism is not standard. It seems a locally made fix . I copied it from a photo report by Bob Fleming in a 1997 Military Modelling magazine of two ex-egyptian examples being restored in the Budge collection in the UK.
Thanks again.

Wow, fantastic build and finishing work! The multiple levels of filters, shading and pigments all without beating it up badly really make it look full-scale, magnificent
As a whole, how well did the kit go together?

Fantastic looking IS-3m Cesar! Very nice, concur with the previous comments! Great job with the camo colors and applied weathering, nice touch with the inside of the tracks, awesome! Like the little detail on the vehicle placard on the left rear, adds a nice touch! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!!

I really like your camouflage....very well done and quite realistic looking. It actually does look like it's been sitting out in the desert sun.

As a whole, how well did the kit go together?
Is a good, decent fit overall for what I remember -I finished the model a year ago- The only thing I think was a really bad fit was the turret hatches: they donīt fit properly and I had to add some plastic strips, and by some carefully sanding and test fitting I was able to make them sit OK.
The wheels arenīt 100% round and need some sanding. I made it the hard way but with a motor tool it should be an easy fix.
And finally I have to remember that my model have a lot of corrections and details added. I think I modified almost all pieces -not many- in the kit and scratch build some, like the turnbuckles. Trumpeterīs IS-3 is a decent kit that can be build into a nice model out of the box, but is not as good as their KV series and it will benefit a lot with some super-detailing.
Three things I think specially need correction are the gun shield cover in the upper front turret wich is completely the wrong shape; side skirts have an irreal 'lip' where they join the hull sides whereas they should directly continue hull sides slope; and the the transmission cover lacks two slots. There is six and it should be seven per side. This error is common to all IS-3s models.
Thanks for all the comments.
