Hi everyone, after a 12 year abstinance from building, i started a restoration project. Either i bought bad batch of paint, or it sat on the shelf too long. However it didn't dry flat. I tried clear flat, and that didn't help. The paints are model master olive drab (fs 34087), and clear flat (no. 2015). In the past i've used these with no problems. As i hand paint, i don't want to add another coat. I'm looking for an idea to dull the finish without ruining the project.

If anyone has any ideas, they'll be welcomed. It's amazing how you forget things, whenyou haven't done them in a long while (Like test the paint before use).

I placed four photos in the "workbench" area, if anyone wants to see where i'm at. BTW the person in one of the photos, is one of my soldiers, not me. My callsign is Wolfhounds.

Thank you------------Ron

I had a similar problem when using an old can of Dull Cote. I bought a new can, shook the heck out of it, re-sprayed the model and it dulled it right out. I figured that the dulling pigments in the can had stuck to the bottom and all I got was a semi-gloss coat.
Get new Flat Coat and try again.

Ditto what gunny said, dullcote aerosol should flatten that down. Also, if you are going to weather it that should knock some shine off, too. Good luck, looks like a nice build.
