Hello All,
I am looking for a good, basic guide on constructing and painting 1/35 AFV figures. I have a few 1/35 sets from Dragon and Tamiya and such, but I have never really built any figures yet! I guess I am looking for some tips on the basics. Thanks!
Sean

Gday Sean
I cannot help you with a book per se, but I reckon if you do a search of the site for step by step tutorials, you'll find what you're looking for...
Cheers and best of luck

Hi Sean,
When you say "the basics", do you mean assembly or painting?

I would recommend the “classic” by Sheperd Paine:
Building and Painting Scale Figures
It is a bit hard to find one (Amazon.com sells few used for about 60 USD). It’s worthy though.

By the basics, I mean construction first off. I figure I have to build them before I can paint them I was looking at a figure for my 1/35 105mm Sherman by Tamiya. I am wondering where seams would be ok..like where the arm meets the upper body, etc. Also, what glue do most of you use? I have the liquid cement, super glue, etc, but I figure the liquid Testors type of glue would be best. Does everybody paint the head before attaching it to the body? How about the best ways for removing seams, etc.
I guess I am looking for some helpful hints for constructing.

Sean,
Shoot me an email (look in my profile) or PM me. I have an "e-book" that just may well help you out.
For the construction of "plastic" figures such as those in your Tamiya kit, your liquid cement will be fine. I'm not a fan of the "tube-type" as it's rather thick, but do like the "squeeze-bottle type." If you get into resin figures, you'll need CA glue...both the thin fast setting type and the thicker "gel-type."
