PorkChop's FAMO
Ok, kit is pretty much done, just adding the figs now (Yes I know the driver has no head). Will be adding jackets, boots, canteens, newspapers etc. to the crew area, all the essentials for a succesful FAMO outing.
Should have this kit done in about a week, then on to either an M-113 Zelda or 1/35th AH-1W, if my 2 Bob decals show up soon. (Which do you want to see first?)
Thanks,
Nate

Nate,
Looks very good. Painting and rust spots are awesome. Do you also plan to put it (FAMO) in a diorama?

When I started I was going to have it towing a STUG III, but I've canned that idea and I'm building it as a stand alone. I'll get to the Stug sometime in the future
I'm just gonna put it on a stained base as my gound work skills stink. I worked on a ground base for a while yesterday and decided I'm just gonna keep it simple.

Nate, that looked very good - I really liked the way that you weathered your vehicle and the details on the tools. What type and color paint did you use as the main color? Did you use panzer gray as the base coat?
Also, I can't really tell, but it looks like the emblem on the front driver's side fender has some gloss still on it - did you flat coat or is this just additional darkening to make the emblem stand out?
Thanks, GR8Voyager

I found the pictures, very well done. When you come to the Verona show I'll show you mine. I sent my pic's in in December, I guess they lost them. Again, very well done.

Thanks all.
The color is Tamiya XF-60 (Dark yello) lightened with some wite. Next time I'll mix in a little XF-59 desert yellow too.
No base coat on this one, weathered with thinned burnt umber and some XF-59 that had been thinned. As well as thinned "rust"
Thanks for the heads up on the emblem, I'll drop a little dullcoat on it.
The figures are the Warriors Famo Crew #1-- awsome set.
Thanks

Terrific job Nate! I love the colors used. Nicely weathered. I like the "loaded" bed...so much to look at.
Nate, go to your first post here and hit the edit button to see how we made your link.
Hope that helps.

Thanks.
I got the link process figured out.
Not real hard, after all it says "put link here" or something to that effect.
I'll get it right by the time this kit is finished.
All told this kit really had a lot of parts... makes that T-55 or Merkava look real inviting

Nate,
From where did you get the figures? Are they Tamiya as well? I really like the broken arm idea and the fur vest that the officer is wearing. Impressive build. How long did it take you to finish this?

The figures are from Warriors. It's 2 of the 3 figs from their Famo Crew #1. Really top notch stuff. I agree, the sling is pretty cool.
I've been working on this kit on and off since June '02, but Really hit it hard over the last 1.5 months.
thanks,
