Hello again.
Now it´s time to apply the markings on the Bradley for my Thunder run diorama and I don´t really know how to mark it so I need you help again.
I´ve looked in the book "Thunder Run" from Concord and in pictures I got from Ladder5 (Mark, thanks again) but I can´t really find what I need. Since I don´t have a clue how the US markings system works, I`m wondering if someone have a picture(s) or can tell me how a Bradley fighting along some Abrams from "1-64 arm. A cpy ( 51)", the ones with the airplane names would be marked. What markings and where.
Hope you can help me.

The Bradleys that were task organized to 4-64 AR and 1-64 AR were from 1-15 IN. The Bn ID #s on them were in the 40 series. Some had TF-4-64 or TF 1-64 bumper numbers and some had TF-1-15. They all had draw yard id #s and markings on them since they came from the APS 5 PrePo draw yard in Kuwait. Also, they all had the side racks and jerry can racks on them as well.
Here are a couple pics:
Also, check out my M2A2 ODS from 1-15 IN build and the dio "On Patrol" that I put it in.
Good luck.

Thanks Gino. It was just that kind of picture I was looking for. What is a "draw yard id#", and the text betwen the towing hooks, what is that?

By the way, I really like your "on patrol"-diorama.

Thanks, glad you like the dio. Unfortunately, it was for a customer and I don't have it any longer. It was a fun build though.
The text on the front between the tow hooks is the draw yard ID info. There was a Brigade set of vehicles stored in Kuwait as part of the world-wide Pre-Positioned fleet that we have at various places for contingency operations. These vehicles do not have any unit bumper #s on them when in storage. They are identified by vehicle sets and individual vehicle #s. The text on the front says something to the effect of:
QTB 389
C 1458 Mech
The QTB # is the vehicle number and is also stencilled on both sides near the rear, and on the rear ramp. The C 1458 Mech is the vehicle set # for a Mech Bn, and the Company, C Company, of that Bn.
You can see it here on the front of mine well:
and on the rear sides:
Hope that helps.

Hi
the markings on Gino's model are in the right position but differ slightly in for the platoon attached to A cpy.
2 Bde 3ID were all vehicles from Prepo stocks so those markings are correct.
2 Bde units were;
1-64 Arm
4-64 Arm
3-15 Inf
1-64 Arm was task organised
A cpy 1-64 arm
C cpy 1-64 arm
C cpy 3-15 Inf
A cpy 1-64 and C cpy 3-15 swapped a platoon ( 4 vehicles) of tanks and bradleys.
A cpy 1-64 was
1 Ptn A cpy 1-64 arm
2 Ptn A cpy 1-64 arm
2 Ptn C cpy 3-15 inf
the bradleys would have 43> ( V pointing right )as their main marking.
Right front and rear markings would be C 21,22,23,24
Left front and rear would be TF 1-64
hope that helps

Good rundown. Like Mark says though, it depends on which Company you want the vehicle to represent. Good luck and show us some pics once it is done.

Thanks. Now let´s see if I got it right.
If I use three tanks from A Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment of 3rd Infantry Division, then a Bradley fighting alongside these can be marked TF 1-64 A33 with 43 on the sideskirts just like Gino´s photos above or should it be 51 like the tanks? The draw yard id# is the same as on his Bradley?

if it is for the first thunder run, then only TF 1-64 took part. organised as shown above. all C cpy bradleys start with a C on the front 'bumper'
the 2nd thunder run a few days later incorporated all of 2 Bde.
1-64 TF and 4-64 TF went into baghdad and 3-15 inf TF looked after the route up highway 8 at the intersections known as moe, larry and curly. 4-64 arm had bradleys of A cpy from 3-7 inf so their side markngs were 21. in fact the picture of A33 with infantry on its left is one of those
the 4 bradleys with A cpy 1-64 arm were from 3-15 inf. C cpy.2 ptn, therefore their 'bumper 'numbers would be C 21, C22, C 23, C24
they would have 43 on the sides with a V pointing to the right
they would also have TF 1-64 ( NOT TF 3-15 ) on the front left

Mark's info above is correct. My Bradley depics one from 3 PLT / C Co / 3-15 IN. This PLT and Co stayed w/3-15, hence the TF 3-15 bumper #s.
For the draw yard numbers, the Bn ID (1458 Mech) would be the same, the Co letter would correspond with the Co you are depicting, A for A Co, B for B Co, etc. The QTB # is a unique, 3 digit # for each vehicle. I just made it up since I couldn't make it out and no one will remember or know it anyways.

The above was what I needed.
I will post some pictures when I figure out how to do that.
Many thanks one more time Mark and Gino
