Heya, Folks,
Just finishing up my Academy Sherman with dozer blade. It is a decent kit, I'd say on par with some of Italeri's...occasionally loose fit or vague instructions, but no real complaints. Filled in the troughs where the weld lines are and that is about the extent of the additions (which is fine by me --- I've got a two year old to chase around)...
I've heard about inaccuracies, but I'm also one of those few who enjoyed Academy's Vietnam-era Sheridan, flaws and all. In the end, both kits looked the part and that's close enough for government work, if you ask me.
Anyway, I know the answer is no doubt a variation of Olive Drab but does anyone have any info on what shade of O.D. a USMC Korean War 105mm Sherman (w/dozer) would be? Gloss, flat, semi gloss? If I recall, the Marine green was darker and possibly semi gloss after WWII...?
Any suggestions for Tamiya or other acrylic color matches would be appreciated as well.
As always, many thanks!
Much Aloha,
Johnny B.

It was the same as Late WWII OD as that is when they were all painted. USMC Green Came into use later.
