I picked up an Esci 1/24 scale Land Rover last week. I've seen civilian versions from Esci, but this was a military version of the Land Rover. Don't have a picture of the cover, but the artwork features the Land Rover from the passenger side, open top.

Is this the Rover you mean? I pick up four of them about 15 years ago. Good old Squadron sale fliers.
I got the Mercedes because the German gate guards used them.
Also snagged six of the Toyota’s. About every third and fourth world country uses them. Thought about a big ol’ 12.7 mm DShK mounted in the back.
I don’t think they are really rare yet; just very, very hard to find.

Yeah, it's the paratrooper kit.
