I got a little more done, figured out how I wanted to do the stairs, still need a set coming down across the front and a small set around back by the chimney.
I also have to add two more book shelves and three windows, then I can roof it up and put the shot up front corner over the existing damage.
Oh yeah and a broken door haninging off the entrance and some brickwork in the cut up foam board [ damaged area ].
That's gonna be alot of exterior brick/block work.
I had alot of respect for Claude when he did the castle [ can you say roof tiles ? ], but now even more respect for his work now that I'm thinking about the brickwork !!!!!!!

The fireplace and candle center piece are Great. Very nice additions.
How thick is the exterior archway wall going to be? Thinking ahead to when you add to that is there going to be thickness on the inside or the outside? Based on the thickness of the 1st floor and the damaged area it looks a bit thin right now.

Scott, thanks, the pics. I posted were of the forms which will be clad both sides in cast bricks/stones. I can't find my 1/35th scale ruler right now it's under a mound of tools, balsa and plaster bricks, but it measures in real time 7/16ths thickness. I padded the arches with thin cork and the base of the wall with some thin balsa. Tis way the bricks will have different depths.
The whole monastery will be built using these bricks and the pea gravel - fishtank stones that was used on the fireplace.

Patience, one by one, you have plenty of time!
The chimney looks good, are you going to colour the stones?
Cheers

Hi Claude, I don't think I'll have to paint the chimney stones. Once the roof is on and I create the shot up front corner, the amount [ small ]i of interior visuals may not make that necessary. However the outside portion may need a dull wash as the stones are a bit shiney.

Gotcha, sounds good, It should balance out and look fine.
I wouldn't paint the fireplace based on the roof covering it and limiting the light.

G'mornin Scott, yeah I've found when doing interiors, lighter colors help with the limited visuals. Depending on the size of the front corner opening it's gonna be dark in there.
