Hi folks, at last got the motivation to finish this build, hope to place it in a proper base soon.
Unimog 404 from Das Werk and M101 from Italeri, both finished in Tamiya Acrylics, oils and Mig Pigments. Stowage from Legends.
Any comments welcome as usual. Thanks for looking
Cheers

looks pretty good, i like it.
it reminds me of one of the models that would be in an ad for Mig in a magazine or something.
good job.

Looking good Klaus. The M101 looks great with the Unimog. The only thing missing are some angry Chilean artillery men

Thanks Ethan
Thanks Erik, you were right about what to tow, the Unimog looks more appealing with the artillery pice than a trailer. IŽll try to place some crew ASAP, now IŽm finishing some kits for a modelling show that will take place next week, Leopard 2A4 included....
Oh, soon youŽll see something about the chilean Leopard 2A4. Now we know that it will not be alone, some Gepards and Marder 1A3 will escort them in desert guise ....

Your Unimog came out looking quite good, Klaus! You even seem to have fixed the windshield very well. Now it just looks like it's been in the field all day. As others noted, adding the M101 spruces it up quite nicely.

Really looks great, especially the canvas wrapped around the barrel. The weathering is also very realistic .
The only minor thing that caught my eye was that I think it would be very unusual to move the piece with the site still mounted. Every unit I was ever in always removed the site and placed it inside a stowage box when the piece was being moved.

Thanks Tom, I based my tarp on a picture of the Masters Productions canvas.
Yes, youŽre right, I was told by a fellow artillery officer the exact same thing. Will adress that issue on the next one, scheduled for december

Looks pretty good. I will add to what Tom said though. The bar sticking off the trail of the howitzer is also removed during movement. It is used to move the trails around when setting it up or breaking it down. As you can see, it gets in the way for movement. Good job. Nice idea on the canvas for the gun.

Nice job Klaus! You have to be one your way in building 1 of everything in the Chilean inventory! Excellent weathering.
