Looks like a nice build. The white wash is very well done.
I think your panzer is too rough. I have never seen Panthers with this rough surface on the armour plates. However, it could be dirt and or (very) old zimmerit, but still looks too rough to me.
Anyway, that is just a detail on a nice build.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for your kind comment.
Now that you say it, it looks kind of rough. Do you think the matte laquer will dampen it or maybe some oil washes?
Thanks once again!

Hate to say this but I have not seen a Turret of a panther that looked like that.
No sharp corners, maybe a little work to bring them back would do.
Also on the Hull ,Armor plate is kind of flat with no casting like that.
Other then that looks okay.
If you want can use Mister surfacer 1000 and sand flat gives good representation of Steel plate.
Good going for a First build.

No problem but if you would read my 1st post you would see that this is a made up tank due to failure of the zimmerit.

I did read it.
But I can't understand the failure of the Zim????
Have you tried Atak or Cavalier Zim?
Good stuff and applies with Epoxy so you can have about 5 to 10 minutes to get it down and secured.
Thanks

It came with the Eduard PE zimmerit which is a PITA, so it probably left glue on the surfaces. That is a very difficult thing to try for a first build. Either way, I would just keep moving and finish the model. You'll learn plenty of new stuff but one of the worst habits is to go back into a mostly built model or set it aside to do something else, as one gets better building and painting through just one build when you start. It looks ok and it's a what-if, so just keep moving and finish 'er up!

Looking pretty good now but one thing would put a little sag in them tow cables, they are stiff but not really that stiff.
Prime portal has a Nice G that shows a good set of cables.
Again real nice

Hi Ragnar
You made this one a lot better with the details and the painting.
The track links look very clean, but I guess that will change with your MiG pastels.

How are the track links supposed to be fitted to the turret? Have they been welded on? Otherwise you might consider some hooks to hold them.
Looking forward to see more.

Mange tak

REgarding the tracks on the turret...Hmmm...Got another post on a nother forum where they stated the same thing...Pretty frustrating...If it was welded, is at as a normal weld at the outlines of the tracks maybe?
Yes the MIG's will do they work,I hope

Maybe Ill mess everything up, Im quite afraid of that!
Thanks for the kind comments. Right now it just stands on my shelf waiting for the pigments, The mock up on the display base is done so Im going add some snow ASAP.
Thanks

You can make your own Tow cables or buy a set of parts from Karaya of Poland which are great.
Also you can cut the ends off and twist some fine copper wire and make your own But remember the twist.
Also I did notice that the Turret is missing the rear Lift hook to remove the turret you have 1 on each side but missing the rear one next to grab handle.
Looking good tho.
A set of PE grills would go a long way also.
Nice to spend other folks money is it not. ;-)
Cheers

Gonan try to redo it with more splatter and less sharp line.
That is the answer my friend.
I think maybe just a bit to heavy around the armor plates, and most would be thrown up inside the plates, unless tank was buried up to it's Keister in mud which I have seen in Korea.
Well it is nice to see it coming along
Look at this link here on mud.
Compliments M/L

I would say don't sweat it, thats a lot of difficult techniques tried all on your FIRST build, so don't expect any sort of perfection. I think it looks quite decent right now.
You tried photo-etch, washes, airbrushing and shading, battle damage, a white-wash finish, and pigments/mud all on your first tank which are quite complicated to start with.

I wouldn't mess around with it too much more or you may damage the mud finish, which looks good with the splatter, you may end up chasing your tail if you try to change it. I would just about call it done and start on another with some of the new skills.

Do you think I can hide the newbie mud by making it drive in a unexplored area of snow and mud underneath?

Thanks, sounds like a good idea...Just gonna finish the other side and the back and do some small touch ups and some rust on the tracks, then its a stug III and a tiger early tank with voyager PE and metal tracks plus resin exhaust sytem. Do you thnik its possible to use the PE for a tamiya tank because it says its for the dragon tiger 1 early, same product nr as wittmans tank which is early?
Thanks for comments!

Hard to say Ragnar.
If you want to learn stuff I guess you have to take good with bad.
I don't mean to say anything negative about any build but if I see something I will say it.
Hope some will do the same for me the only way to learn I am afraid to say.
Actually for your First model should of just did the tank and then wait until you have 5 or more models under your belt to try other things related to modeling.
I would close it down also.
But please put that one Turret lift hook on.
Thank you and a good job on the whole thing.
Actually you can learn more thru Pictures.
