First I wanna say thanks for tellin' me were to get some of the kits I need. Now to my problem: a friend ask me if I could build him a dio including some modells of what he saw on TV. I wants' a M-109 'Palladin', LAV-25, 155 mm Ultralightweight Field Howitzer, a M1 A2 Abrams, Challanger 2, a M-113 APC, a Hummer, some US and UK infantry (Army or Marines) and a flying AH-64 Apache. One thing is that he neither wants it to be connected
to operation ' iraqi freedom' nor to operation 'desert strom'. I think that will be my least problem, what I'm more concerned about is how to put this mass of modells together. He want's the infantry and the tanks to move into a enemy controlled, middle east, town with the Apache flying over them and the M-109 and the Howitzer firing. AND he wants' it on one dio not two or more. Now my questions are 1. How can I fit the moving infantry and tanks together with the big guns, as I can't imagine a M-109 or a Field Howitzer right behind the infanty? 2. What size should I set for the dio? 3. How many infantry should I put in the dio, as he doesn't know how many would be enough?
It's a lot of stuff, but I think you guys can help me with it. I'll be thankfull for any help or idea on how to build this one.

Ok- here's another challenge - It'll be tought to get the helo the same scale as the AFV's and figures.
Wow - those are some tight constraints. Even the different artilery has varying ranges creating yet another distance problem.
Heres' an idea - you know how in Iraqi Freedom the US took Bosra then the Brits came in to mop up and flesh out resistance while the US moved on.
Well go on the premise that the US (or Brits and flip first strike responsibilities if you want) have taken a major objective and are looking to move on. The US has set up thier 109 and are shelling the next objective. That takes place on one side of the dio. Then on the other you have the Brits (or US) mopping up a pocket of resistance one alley or street over from the artiliery.
If you're going 1/35 scale you're going to need a huge base - 3 feet by 3 feet as a minimum I'm guessing.
Number of figures - ?? - Thats up in the air. I don't know how many men it takes for a howitzer. You could get away with none on the 109. Is the crew buttoned down in the AFV's? If not probably two on each tank, at least one commander on the 113, not sure of squad size. Sorry not much help on # of figures.
Let us know what you work out - I'm curious!

No just do 1/72 or 1/48.I know they make the majority of he models you listed in those scales.LAV-25 and M-109 I doubt though.
Why doesnt he want it to do with Iraqi Freedom if I may ask?
Also the way it should be set up is you have the M1 out in front with the infantry behind him either on foot or in a Bradley/LAV-25(if the Marines) and your Apache Helicopter out in front of all them flying air support. The 109 Im not so sure about because if it is urban combat mobile artillery would not be wanted in a urban area. They would be farther out to give fire missions and artillery support.
Thats my suggestion.
