I have a idea,
To build one diorama that consists of two parts, one before and one after an event.
Has someone done that and became the result any good.
My idea is to do a small part of the monastery Monte Cassino in Italy 1944, before the allied bombed it, and the same part after the bombardment.
The first with peaceful monks and priests in prayer and so on, the other with German parachute's dig in into the ruins, waiting for the offensive from the allied..
Comments welcome

I really like the idea. You sometimes see dioramas with themes/subjects similar to this one. Like a tank/AFV before and after fighting (destroyed).
I don't have an example for you at this moment but the idea is good and if you're going to start this project I'll follow it for sure!

Hi Per,
It's nice to hear from someone who thinks "outside" of the box .
I think your idea is well worth giving a go and i wish you alot of success, in the meantime a bit of inspiration from a post on the Armorama Benelux forum:

Thank´s Shay!
I like to thinks "outside" of the box, In Sweden, we say think outside the frameworks but outside the box is better for it requires a dimension more.
I have begun with the dio and has founded bottom with plaster today, has also begun to do an original of pillars and vaults that I will found later.
Comes to photograph continuous and to publish this on the forum

A couple years ago at the Long Island Figure Show there was a vignette on a truntable. One side showed an ancient temple (I donl;t recall off hand the historical setting/period) in its glory and the opposite side was the same temple several hundred or thousand years later as an archiological dig.

It reminds me of the books from AFTER THE BATTLE i.e. Panzers in Normandy, where they show a photo of a vehicle or scene taken during combat and then show a photo of the same location months or years later.
Great idea !!
Cheers
