Guys,
here are some pictures of the Nemrod US paratroops I have been working on lately, I have attempted to give them a slightly dirty , worn look , that since they have been in combat for 24 hours straight after jumping out of a plane the night before and since then been scrabling around in hedge rows. Please any thoughts of improvements would be most useful, I am yet to paint the hand and insignia ,I was debating useing insignia transfers (decals) any thougts on which option to go with , Personally , I think my paint style , abiltiy does not suit decals because they would stand out to much as decals, an thoughts.
Thanks for taking a look feel free to join the paratroop debate
Best wishes ,
Jerry

first off very good figures well painted good job, now down to business, few things you could do, obviously paint the insignia yourself more in keeping with your own colour scheme, you could use transfers and apply a kinda dirt wash to bring them in keeping new sets from archer fine transfers very good, or you could if you have a reasonable photo package get hold of some decal paper experts choice paper available from www.hannants.com very good and print your own in a more effective colour sceme, or you could do what i do which is to use basic index cards print the insignia on them cut them out and apply with glue the card being thicker stands out and gives a realistic impression of an piece of fabric on top of the uniform and of course if you have a good colour printer and take the time you can make insignia for virtually any uniform or project a good source for insignia is http://www.uniforminsignia.net/
hope that helps
