Hi all.
Just saw an interesting thing on the news. I'm not an expert but I'm seeing what looks like a M88 tearing down a statue in Iraq. This will prob be a pretty good historical dio.. I also noted the other end of the cable was attached around the statue's neck...

Oh, tough! They quickly replaced it with a pre-Saddam Iraqi flag.
Nothing wrong with a young Marine showing WELL DESERVED pride.
We still have much work to do, but we are doing it.
I hope those people over there can have good lives while we enjoy the many new ideas for our own modelling.

A huge cheer went up from the Iraqi's when that US flag was placed over the head of Saddam. Then the Iraqi's were holding it up and waving it around afterwards.

No prob. Maybe today we are just a little bit proud, a little bit happy, and very hopefull for a swift and peacefull end to this chapter. And mostly the slight chance that there can be a true peace and better days for all.

Hi Guys,
I'd like to add a Scottish (UK) side to this. I for one and there are many like me are really happy about the coalition forces, freeing Iraq from their TYRANNY, I've several friends out there doing their bit too. I want to add also that anybody releasing large statues of Saddam will make a small fortune with all us modellers out here. There has been some terrific photos taken that are ideal for setting up dio's.
Good luck to all our guys & girls out there. Come home safe folks and lest we not forget our fallen.
Kenny. (Didn't mean this to sound like a sermon or political, but just a voice of support for our troops)

REAL MODEL do a coversion set for the M88A2 HERCULES. ( Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System) You will need to have the academy M88 first of course.
I for one will not be buying a statue of Saddam, I would rather stick my face in a blender than have that THING in my house.
There are numerous walkarounds available on the net if anyone is interested.....PM Me.
Or ask SABOT here on this site.....he knows everything....

Desert-Fox, there is no Academy M88. You meant AFV-Club one (or Revell of Germany rebox of it).
