First I want to thank Milo of Real Models for his help in providing some rference material for me on this build. With out it, I would still be searching on the net right now.
Before i dployed, I had my LHS order the Trumpeter Slat Armor set for me since that is what Milo used on his. While I was gone, Eduard announced the realeasing of the Slat Armor and Additional Side Armor for the AFV kit. Well, I didn't want to put my LHS out, so I still bought the Trumpeter set and went to work.
As Milo mentioned, the Trumpeter set will work on the AFV kit, but with some minor tweaking. After the release of the instructions of the AFV slat and addtional armor set, I used them as reference to add the missing pieces that the Trumpter set didnt have. The gold colored brass is from the Trumpeter Photo etch set. There wasn't much that I used from it.
I'm gonna add sand bags all around for added protection to the crew using Tamiya putty. I also have the Hobby Fan Stryker crew on the way.
Stay tuneed and there will be more to come.

Pete
Looking real good. So you are using the AFV Stryker kit and the Trumpeter PE Etch? Is it difficult keeping the slat square and parallel, did you build a jig first? Are you using glue of solder?
I'll be watching this project as I have one in the wings that I'm afraid to begin..;0)

Thanks again Milo for all your help.
Bogie: HELL YEA it's difficult to keep square! LOL Seriuosly, it was a little frustarting keeping the sides of each section straight. I did one section at a time each evening. Once you attach each section together, it kind of starightens it self out. I didn't use a jig, I don't know if one would help or not. I used regular Duro brand super glue on mine because I don't have a sloder gun handy to use. I used a toothpick to apply the glue.
The only advice I would realy give is that you do use the correct slat armor set for the correct kit, especially if your a little affraid to tackle such a big photo etch set.
Kevin and Erik: I know what you mean, I've already broken sections off the slat armor I do have made up several times. I asked Milo how he painted his, with the slat on or off, and he said on. I don't see how he did it. And not to mention how he got all the gear on behind the armor.
More pictures to come later guys.

Pete,
I am building the same kit now, but have the Eduard slat armor for the Trumpeter kit. I have been applying the Trumpeter add on PE as I go, and am getting set to start adding the slat armor. Yours looks fantastic.

Very nice work so far, Pete. I'm amazed that you've been able to get the slat so square without a jig and using only good old CA!

Hi,
Excellent work Pete !
Can you say me if the yellow rounded piece are coming from the AFV slat kit ? or what else ? TIA.
Is the AFV slat armour kit on the market now ?
As i' am now working on a British bar armour, I can say that i have solder all the PE pieces .
And I have painted the Warrior before adding the bar armour, then finishing the overall paint job.
Cheers

Pascal,
It's all kit so far. I haven't had to replace any of the bars yet. I bought some evergreen the same size just in case i need to replace them, but I haven't had to yet. The onlt thing I added so far to the photo etch set is bolts and hinges.

Looking great Pete. The slat armor is coming out nicely. I'm still holding out for the Dragon kit and keeping my fingers crossed it will come with slat armor. Keep us posted.

Same here Gino. I am also waiting for Dragon. I've been watching with great enthusiasm all of you build the Trump and AFV Strykers and believe me I am collecting plenty of pointers. By the way, Pete, excellent job so far. Can't wait to see some paint on it.
