Always worth checking the forums to see if this question has been asked and answered before

Sadly not much available in reality. Certainly compared to WW2 but it's starting to gain interest.

ICM from Ukraine made a good set of WWI British infantry.
Emhar has british and german infantry and artillery sets and three Mk. IV - both 'Male' and 'Female', and a Tadpole -; a Mk V 'Hermaphrodite'; and a Whippet.
Tauro Model of Italy made a german A7V tank also.

Not much help in shops or availability, sorry.

ICM offers both German and British infantry in styrene depicting soldiers from 1916.
ICM also has Prussian Infantry from the 1870 Franco-Prussian War, which might be cross kitted with the 1916 figures for some 1914 Germans (the early kit includes the Pickelhaube helmet).
The Emhar German and British artillery kits are extremely simplified, but what detail there is, is crisp. The Emhar figures are pretty worthless, though.
Model Cellar offers some resin British and German infantry figures, as well as trench diorama accessories.
