Dragon Models have just announced a set of artillery figures for their recent German sFH 18 Howitzer in 1/35th scale. This new (five-figure) set includes a good number of ''bonus'' items including propellant charges and Ram-Rods. For more details and images of the artwork of the new set, it can be seen:

Nice looking crew. Am I correct in assuming that each crew member has 2 sets of arms and 2 heads? As portrayed in the images?
If so that's pretty cool. Multipose-ish and definitely adds more versitility (sp?) to the set.
Well done DML.
Rudi
p.s. is it just me or does Ron's box-art look a bit flatter than usual?

How big a crew did this gun actually have? Any ideas?
Thanks,

It's the old Dragon Karl-morser crew with other arms.
Check reference, the real artillery crew never looked this sharp.
It's a to simple and cheap solution from Dragon, Sorry.
Though, happy modeling!?

More than likely, as it's listed as a Premium Edition release....
As to crew numbers, off the top of my head, I'd imagine around 10 - anyone want to expand on this figure?

I'm with you Jim. Need a fuse setter and a couple more shell mules for this gun.
As a note, can't we get more realistic with these gun crews as to field caps in stead of helmets, stripped to waist or wife-beater T-shirts,no gas masks or other battle-rattle hanging off them, maybe suspenders. If not then for God's sake unbutton their collers! .
This goes for allied crews as well, although the Tamiya 25 pounder gun crew is pretty much in touch with the real world. I'm going to alter my set to a DAK crew in a little while for a project.
Cheers!

Maybe this crew are giving a 21-Gun salute for Herr Fuhrers birthday?
Rick, you're absolutely correct in this - pity they hadn't actually taken a look at their 'own' publication on German Artillery:

Plenty of photos in there of guncrews in more 'typical' dress....

Hmmm if they're premiuming this set, might as well add the 6th figure from the original set! Oh well, nice addition to the set.
