HELLO
I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD A M1126 STRYKER IN IRAQ WITH "additional armour" (eduard 36011) + "slat armour" (eduard 36002).
Can somebody tell me what unit use a stryker like this in iraq?
thank you
CHRIS

Every Stryker unit in Iraq uses slat armor and the additional armor package There is no exception.

All the Stryker BDEs have cycled through Iraq. Any of the kit decals will be accurate w/slat and plate armor as a Stryker in Iraq.

with that one, even though they look like 1's they are actually I's ( i' ) So the unit is
2I 5-20I
2nd ID, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment,
so the I's are for Infantry

Okay then, did the Styker ATGM belong to any of these units:
2I - I - 23I
2I - 5 - 20I
2IN - 5 - 20IN ( what does the 'IN' stand for? )

IN would stand for infantry (as would the I in your other examples).

Yes the ATGM version would belong to each of those units. Each Bn has an AT platoon (4 vehicles) for added firepower. No idea what the bumper numbers for them would be though. Each BN will also have an AGS platoon as well once they are fully fielded.
Also, in this example, 2I - I - 23I, the second I is actually a 1. It is 2 ID, 1st Bn, 23rd Infantry Regiment, or 2ID, 1-23 Infantry.

as John said, IN is for Infantry, and yes there were ATGM's in each of those units. 2I-5-20I and 2I-5-20IN are the same unit

Actually, there is an AT company that is a BDE asset which is made up of 3-3 vehicle platoons for a total of 9 ATGM's for the company, plus some Strykers like an ICV for the CO and an FSV for the Fire Support Team.
Now as far as the line Battalions go, each company has a Platoon of 3 ATGM's, and those platoons are 4th PLT. so their Bumper Numbers would be 41, 42, 43.
Recently they have discovered that the ATGM in Iraq is not very effective since the only thing it can do is shoot TOW missles and has an M240B for the VC. Plus you cannot pack very many guys inside so they've been issuing the plt 1 ATGM and 2 ICV's to make the platoon more effective.
Once the MGS come online for all the units the ATGM's will go away, except for the AT CO. They will maintain their ATGM's
Hope this helps

Thanks guysfor the detail explainations It is a little confusing. I was wondering to see if the decals that came with the AFV club styker kit could be used on my ATGM stryker. So they can be used. That's good news.

It really is. I've been studying Tables of Organization and Equipment (TO&E) for a while and the biggest thing that comes ot mind is the difference between a TO&E on paper and then when it really gets deployed and commanders shuffle units around based on effectiveness of the organization, other attachments and detachments, and a ton of other factors.
Here is the BN TO&E according to FM 3-21.21 THE STRYKER BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM INFANTRY BATTALION
Charles, if you don't understand it, that's fine, send me a PM and I'll help interpret.
Here is the SBCT Company TO&E. Notice the lack of the ATGM platoon (the so-called 4th platoon). I remember reading somewhere, the ATGM was used in lieu of the MGS because it wasn't ready.

As long as you can taylor them to read as a 4th platoon vehicle, you will be ok, like A, B, C,-41, 42, 43

Okay. i guess I am too late for that... I already added the decals, well, just the front ones, as mentioned by the other guys.
