I think I saw a model recently ( maybe pics from the Euro?) that showed a British M26, did I dream this or where some lent to the Brits? Anyone got any info on this? tried a search but no joy.
Cheers and thanks in advance

Hello Pete,

No you were not mistaken. I know to at least one M26 in British service although I cannot be 100% sure of the WD of H5829162 or 9462. Others may be able to confirm.
But I don't believe they were used operationally, again others may know. I know that 6 were converted for heavy haulage firm Robert Wynn & Sons Ltd, Newport, South Wales, UK. As far as I know these were ex service vehicles. Someone out there must know more.

Cheers
Kevin

Thanks Kevin,
There doesn't seem to be much known about theses vehicles. I did find some information over at ML, but again no real details. It seems that at least one was used by a British intelligence section to review and compare captured German equipment. I've got some leads so I'll start to track those down.
Thanks again
Pete
