Aloha everyone!!

I'm searching for diorama ideas for my recently acquired AFV M1130 Stryker. I'm thinking of making into the CV TACP version and was wondering if anyone who has been in the military or has working knowledge of this vehicle would know just exactly how this vehicle would operate. Meaning does it operate alone? At far forward locations on the battlefield?
Much Thanks in Advance!!!

Normally, the TACP vehicle is close to the Bn Commander's vehicle. TACP stands for Tactical Air Control Party. This is a team of usually 4 guys from the USAF who coordinates aircraft for CAS (Close Air Support) for Army ground units. The Bn CDR needs them close by so he can tell them what he wants when the CAS is available.

Here's a bit of info...

(globalsecurity)
The Commander's Vehicle is a nice asset. It bridges the gap between heavy mech-anized forces and the light infantry. The commander's vehicle can track just about anything on the battlefield with its video display terminal. Red icons appear on the screen when the enemy is nearby, and an automated voice also alerts the commander of danger. Blue icons depict friendly forces, which the operations officer can see. The commander can identify the units by clicking on their icons with a hand-held pointer. The command variant of the Stryker allows the commander to control events away from the tactical operations center.

That part is really funny. I guess the enemy uses RED Force Tracker that automatically updates our Blue Force Tracker system so we know where he is at. That is very nice of him. In actuality, the red icons only show up when they are input by someone in a vehicle that has another BFT system as well. This usually happens after we make contact with them or receive a SPOT report from a scout or another observer on the battlefield.

If you build the CV version, it would not usually be alone either. Other vehicles such as the TACP vehicle and a couple more Strykers that make up the TAC (Tactical Action Center, a forward command post) will roll with it. No vehicle is usually alone on the battlefield. They operate in at least pairs so they can look out for each other and help if one gets in trouble, this is the wing-man concept.
