As I said, this is an informal survey to firstly determine the market response to such products.
You need to bear in mind that there is no figure industry in SA. While there are a few folks casting resin kits here, they really are (generally speaking with no offense to anyone) garage kits. These are also not intricate things like figures. So this would be (as strange as it may sound to many of you in 1st world countries) ground breaking stuff he's involved in. It's a big risk he'd be taking, and not one to betaken lightly or without the support of the local community as well as the greater international community.
There are many things to be considered before plunging into such an initiative, as the modeller will also have to give up commission work (his daily bread and butter) in order to wholly commit himself to the project.
As I said above, it appears there is interest in such subjects, but the question is whether there is enough to build a sustainable business...
Provided further analysis proves favourable and all things being equal, it is estimated that he will start producing figures during Q4 2008 or (more than likely) Q1 2009.
