Another group of wargaming vehicles just finshed. Shermans from C Squadron, 3rd Hussars, 9th Armd Brigade and Bishop support from 142 Field Arty Regt, XXX Corps ...........

Dragon Sherman IIIs and Esci Bishops. Had a little help from a helpful gent - Dennis Oliver via the Missing Lynx forum on the markings. Having almost no Med theater references the markings were proving a little tricky to verify. To make things harder, if possible the units had to go from Desert through to early Italy. A few liberities taken on the colour scheme as its likely that 142 Regt Bishops were more likely in the darker SCC2 colour but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

cheers
Brent

Hi Brent,

Very nice collection! I was watching them for at least 5 minutes now. I like the different setups you made in the stowage, mudguards, and every bits I can think of. I think I will try it too, after finishing my current build I will start with three Famos at the same time.

The camouflage is also perfect. I know it is not easy to paint those curves so that they look so "natural". Weatherings and shading are also right.

Gday Brent
Have to agree, they look stunning. I assume 1/72? Even more impressive...
Those first couple photos did it for me; plenty of wear and weathering, but not over the top mate
Cheers

Very impressive. I do like the faded black disruptive paintwork, It really shows the fact that these Shermans and Bishop's were out in the sun.

cheers

When I first saw your tanks I honestly thought they were 1/35. Simply beautiful work. The paint is gorgeous. The weathering is perfect. Also I thought I'd mention that your photographs are of an extremely high standard too. Good lighting and it is all in focus. You can actually see all that fine detail. Very impressive.

Cripes Brent they look stunning! I can't get over how you get weathering done at that scale and in no way look overdone. They look like colorplate prints that jumped right off the page. I love seeing these in the huge batches you do up at a time too, its rare to see so many models at the same time. You definitely have a unique style too.

Hi Gents,

Thnx for the comments. Gotta admit i was pretty happy with how they turned out as I wsnt too sure when I started. Have got some more armour coming to do in the new year and probably some transport to go with them too ........... then theres the German armour for the opposition. Again as theyre for wargaming the German untis will do duty covering the period from Tunisia, Sicily through to early Italy.

cheers

These are brilliant Brent,

I'm new to AVF modelling and I'm starting out in 1/72 (and due to budget may never move on!) These really show what can be done in this scale. I have to say you've set the standard for me-if I can learn to approximate what you've achieved here I'll be a very happy chap!

PS I was thinking of modding the Italeri Valentine into a Bishop as the old Esci kit is oop. These pics have extra value for me for reference too!

A great job!

Hi

What a sweet group you have there. I will assume they are 1/72 which makes your efforts that more impressive.

Congrats.

Hi Brent. Considering the scale, the camo, stowage and weathering are really top notch. Love the varying stowage and camo patterns. Nice!!!
