Here's some pic's of my latest and first winter dio . I call it "Patton's Road Crew ".The snow is from woodland sceanic's a little grainy but did'nt want to use baking powder I've heard to many people say that it yellows after awhile. The pak is the old tamiya kit I picked up for two bucks at a flea market and fig's are from my "Dr. Frankenstien bin"as my son call's it. hope you like it all comment's very welcome.

Great Job Steve!!! Your Dio turned out really good. You figures are very well done and the overall layout is excellent. One question for you.... did you hand paint the Seargent stripes on the figure with the Thompson SMG or are the stripes some sort of decal/ dry transfer?

Yo Steve,

Great work...what a detail you put into it! Really great, the hand gloves the ice pins on the trees, the great PAK well hidden under trees and bush. Stunning work...you can feel the fear of the German Para.

Hi Steve. Great dio and definatly great snow. A lot of your images have a yellow hue, which takes away a bit from the scene (the baking powder effect ??). Those that are slightly darker have a dusk feel though. But its all uphill after that. Love the layout, composition, figure painting and details. For a first winter dio, you got it right ... so I suppose we´ll be seeing more? Your figure painting is excellent ... the details all stand out nicely ... love how you "line" the details. Do you wash these in or paint them? Niceone.

I paint them on and then give it a wash

Hi there

Absolutely stunning. The choice of the location at the side of a road and the way you keep every part of the scene within the bounds of reality. The mud within the work area of the gun and the way the attack has been carried out from two sides with figures in very believable poses and so detailed is amazing.

I think the photos are great too. It would be nice and interesting to see what black and white versions of these pics look like. I bet you could fool everyone that they are real ww2 pics.

All the best

Steve,

I think you've done a great job on the snow , like the natural touches of it on the top of sign posts and the trees , very impressed with the painting of the figures those para smocks look perfect . , I find it very difficult to get an action scene to look convincing , you have done this realy well , all the figures interact with each other really well the German pleading for his life, the American officer ordering his men to cease fire. will they heed his order ... great suspense. You have all the elements of a great diorama, there, hats off , result great diorama

Best wishes ,

Jerry
