Hi guys, Heres the latest dio I'm working on. Its called " hitching a ride" A group of airborne troopers are getting them some motorized transport from a group of Germans heading to stop the Allied invasion.
Heres the basic layout.

Heres what I have finished so far.

Nice job so far. Is that a MiniArt base/building? The lamp looks like it, not quite sure about the rest though?

Any casings from the MG in the works?

Thanks for the kind words gents

Scott: the cobblestone street and sidewalk is a resin piece from a new company called Smith Military modeling. The lamp is a mini art piece and the building front is an old custom dio piece . Not sure about the casings, because if the german had opened up with that MG, I'm sure he wouldn't still be standing.

Art: the troopers are DML with resin replacement heads

Cool - thanks for the update. What did you think of the Smith Military road? They are new, I've done an in-box review. Can you give us you impression having used it.

Hi Scott: The cobblestone road and sidewalk section worked great for my needs. I had to trim the road to fit my base and that wasn't a problem with a sharp razor saw. The sidewalk section was a little warped but since I was coverng it wirh rubble I wasn't too concerned. Being a dioramest I'm finding alot of usefull products coming from Smith Military modeling. In fact the door on the building in this dio were made from their trench wall sections. I would reccomend them to anyone building a dio.

Heres a shot of the resin cobblestone road and sidewalk after priming and befor rubble.

I'm becoming even more eager to buy products from Smith Military Modelling. I'll have to save my pennies though, pricing is a whopper.

I've never heard of this vehicle (Horch) before, it's either a little known subject, or I've got my head buried in the sand.

Hey Don,
great job on this one, i'm looking forward to showcasing this one in my gallery section on the web site. i love what you did with creating the doors they seem to work well. i love the rubble coming down the steps, how did you create that? i have shown these pictures to several friends they like your techniques. happy to hear you like the products hope to see more from you in the future.
