Hi guys, here I'm again with my Dragon M1A2 Abrams SEP. I've to say: I'm not very happy with it.
Now I've another question, this time I really don't know, but maybe I'm wrong.
I found instructions speak about oil cap on RIGHT back engine roof only, and on the left? There is no mention about it.
So maybe haven't SEPs this cap (sorry I really don't know) ?, or It disappears in the instruction drawings and I've to put it on the left side too? I'm speaking about piece V32.
Pawel where are you ?

As far as im aware there shouldnt be a fuel cap there. That is the location of the UAAPU, you have added the plate that corresponds with the fitting of a UAAPU instead of hawker battery so just keep going as you are.
Why dont you like it? Ive just finished building one(now painting and I didnt find any real serious problems.

Guido,
Gijs & Rob are spot on with their advice. The early SEPs have a auxillary Power Unit installed where the left rear fuel tank was formerly located. This APU did not work as well as expected and the US Army has made some decisions to replace the EUAAPU with Hawker batteries. I have only seen Harker equipped tanks at Ft Knox... That does not mean that the Harker Batteries are not in use in combat units of 1st Cavalry or 4th Infantry Division or the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment (all the units that are equipped with M1A2 SEPs), however I have not seen proof of the Harker batteries making it out to the M1A2 SEP equipped force. If someone out there has first hand knowledge, then feel free to correct me.

Thank you men to all of you. Yes I' ve thought about UAAPU, but I've a little documentation about and so I wanted to be sure.
In general I don't love Dragon kits, cause I've ALWAYS found fit problems with them, no insurmontable problems but there they are.
In my SEP many problems with exhausts pieces, and so the left hook stands really wrong. So I had to put it 3 mm left, avoiding its pin. Some problems again in the barrel mount and here I choosed, adapting it, that one from Tamiya M1A2.
I think to have many parts often means many problems, but maybe it's just a problem for me.
Thanks again and have a happy new year.

I agree with you Rob. The new Dragon "priemium" kits are some of the best kits I've seen in a long time. Having said that, I did a build / review for modelerchannel.com on the AIM kit. One of the only problems I have with some of the new kits is, just the sheer number of parts. While it is probably not a problem for the very experienced modeler, it can be overwhelming for others.
