I just spent the last 2 hours seperating my individual track and ec from the sprue. While i was doing this I wondered why dragon doesnt supply a set of rubber band tracks for beginner modelers? If this was my first model I would find these things really intimadating. just something you think about when you are cutting what feels like a thousand little pieces off a sprue. I sure hope the carpet monster didnt get any.

Hey Allan,
It's "six of one, half a dozen of the other" when it comes to choosing indy tracks over one piece "rubber band" tracks.
Some indy tracks are a breeze to clean up and assemble but then some are a nightmare to assemble i.e. the Lee/Grant/Sherman types with end connectors.
Some guys hate the indy's, some guys won't build anything but !!
Depending on what your building, you may be able to replace the indys with aftermarket "rubber band" styles from AFV Club or order them from the manufacturers a'la Tamiya.
Academy Europe have a special set of Sherman tracks available on their website.
Cheers and Happy New Year

I am building dragons firefly vc . I did think about getting rubber band tracks but my local hobby store doesnt stock aftermarket stuff or very little anyways so I would have to oder some wich would take a couple of weeks. I figure I can get these tracks put together quicker than that maybe a week and ahalf at most . I have a little jig set up so I dont think it will be that bad it was just getting everything setup to get started. I just hope they are worth all the extra work and for a Firefly or any Sherman for that matter i dont think they will make that big of a difference.

Ahhh, that's what makes Dragons Magic tracks so magical! The beauty of indy links without all that cutting. I'm dreading doing the Tristar Pz 1 tracks, so I can relate to what you are feeling, Allan. Just think how good they will look when they are done

Hey Allan,
Sherman kit tracks are a !@#$%^&* to build but the results are worth it.
AFV Club did produce a set of "rubber band" tracks for the M4A4 Sherman V.
I'm not sure if they're still available..
One trick I've used, if you're not picky about your track types being totally accurate, is to spice an additional section of Tamiya's glueable T48 "rubber chevron" tracks or AFV Club's glueable T49 "parallell bar" tracks together to fit the longer M4A4 Sherman V hull.
I have some spare sets of the Tamiya and AFV Club tracks, PM me if you're interested.
Cheers

I gather you're doing a Dragon Sherman. If it's any consolation, several of the newer Dragon Shermans include soft DS Plastic band tracks. Since Sherman tracks shouldn't sag anyway, individual links aren't needed, and they look terrific.
