Hey guys, i started this one around christmas inspired by all the other Trumpeter KV's i've seen built this year, the kit is as good as people say it is the only problem throughout the whole build was with the front of the fenders where they are supposed to mate up with the bracket molded onto the hull the right one i was able to force into place but the left one i could not so i decided to just leave the front section off and am happy i did. This was a nice easy build to get the year kicked off and i didnt get too excited about the painting and weathering just a plain green paint job and for the weathering i just wanted to depict a dirty dusty look like most of the images i had seem to portray.

Thanks for looking.

Another stunner Ron. Great finish ... love the heavy weathering. Have built a KV1 and have a KV2 (later type) waiting. Must agree about how nice they are to build. Nice one.

Ron,
The KV-2 looks great, but you did not add the pistol port cover and vision port to left (facing) on the turret front. I do not believe Trumpeter shows this in the instructions. Have a look at my friend's KV Seminar that he did for the local AMPS regional. It has most of the info you will need to build KV variants. Hope that helps.
regards,
Georg

You make me sick Ron...sick with envy. I wish I could pump kits out like you, with such good effects.

But I am slowly gaining speed with quality...

Thank you KKiran i have checked out your KV 1 and so far it looks great i await more progress

Thanks Frank these really are awesome kits and the price is incredible concidering the way they turn out.

Hi Georg, i have read your friends work and indeed it is very informative and have a copy saved, as far as the front pistol port plug goes i have pics of several of this particular turret style and for what i can see it was not there its possible these were the exception and maybe it should be but i was ok with omitting it although i do admit the barrel is probably wrong, here are the pics i used for general refs, Thanks for your comments i do appreciate them

Thank you Jacques but your detail work far exceeds that of mine and quality is always better than quantity

Ron: That's a mighty fine looking KV. The weathering is really well done, and the missing front fender is a nice touch. BTW, are those Friul tracks?

Georg: Thanks for posting that link. Good stuff.

Very nice Ron. I'm currently building the later model knocked out in a diorama, but need a Maquette V-2 engine which I can't find. When I get one, I'll post some pics. Nice weathering too.

Impressive job Ron, really nice weathering. You've made it look easy, and a quick build on top of it all! Thanks for sharing your pictures. Cheers!
