I've browsed Armorama for quite a while now, but haven't actually posted anything yet - I figured this would be a good way to start off Some of you will probably know me from the FineScale Modeler forums.

It took me quite long enough to finish this project. Orignally it was going to be OOB, but as many times as I try that it never works. After five months of on-and-off detailing work, especially in the weathering, I'm finally done.

This model represents Ferdinand #231 of the second Kompanie of schwere Panzerjaeger Abteilung 653, August 1943. This vehicle was commanded by Oberfeldwebel Otto Hecker and had 27 confirmed kills during the Kursk battle. It was destroyed in the Soviet counteroffensive in September.

The model is built from the Dragon Premium edition Ferdinand kit, with Fruilmodel tracks and some scratchbuilt details. The weathering was done with oil washes and filters, acrylic chipping, and MiG Pigments.

Welcome to Armorama Jonathan. Nice looking Ferdinand, scheme came out well along with your weathering application. Like the machine gun sticking out of the port on the left rear side, nice detail. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers!

Very good armor. The most enjoyable parts of the model for me is the red identification
design on the back & the offset black numbers on the side.

Details make the model.

Very Nice, this makes me want to finish my shelf queen Elefant that I've had in progress for about 6 years!
I'd say your last 5 months of details and weathering have paid off!
