I assume this was a Dragon kit? Very nice!
BTW, it's 234, not 243. :-)

Jim-- can you describe how you achieved the superb rust effect on this well-done kit.

Hi James. Excellent build and and top camo. The camo colours are believeable and nicely weathered/faded. Just love this Puma vehicle. One of my favourites from the recent MOM.
If I may be so bold as to suggest you hold back a little with the chipping. Eventhough the effect and method is good ... its a little too contrived to be so heavy (and so consistent) on all the vehicles main contours.
But do keep experimenting .. thats where the fun and learning curve are at their best.

Thanks guys, you are all way too kind but I do appreciate the compliments, makes me feel that at least I'm on the right track
Gary, yes this is the Dragon kit, my first three builds were DML kits (this being the third) and they pretty much spoiled me. This 234 series is real nice, will build more in the future. And Henk fixed the typo
DJ, thank you very much. Not sure which rust effect you mean, the streaks are Burnt Sienna oil paint dotted on with a toothpick and pulled down with a brush wet with thinner, the exhaust is Burnt Umber acrylic coated with rust I made with steel wool. I started playing around with different mediums, future, oil paint, etc. and it ended up separating. Not the effect I wanted, so be careful what coatings you mix!
Frank, thank you Yes, I got carried away with the chipping, for sure. Was having so much fun didn't know when to stop! One of my biggest mistakes was not realizing the relatively short lifespan of military vehicles, live and learn. And, something I've heard often, less is better. You can always add more weathering, taking it away may not be possible. Thanks again for looking and commenting.
