hi felllas!

found this pic from wikipedia... it said that this is the Ukrainian version of the T-72 tank.. check it out...

by looking at it, it seems like a T-90 and a T-84 mutated together... the road wheels are the new 6 spoke ones that can be found on a T-90, the front fascia and side skirts look like they were taken off a T-84, the turret doesnt seem to be the "angled/wedged" one that the T-84 has, its more of the circular cast turret from a T-72 or early T-90, and the tracks looks like it came from the T-80 family...

can the russian armor experts on board tell me if this is really an existing tank or just an attempt for a mix and match of both the T-90 and the T-84? it doest look like either coz it doesnt even have the SHTORA device on the turret..

can anybody shed some light into this?

thanks in advance!

Hy Arkuo!

The tank you show is the T-72 AG from ukrainian Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau.
This T-72 is only one of a few other conversions, like the "MP", the 120mm NATO version, or the lenghtened BMT-72. Just check their site for more info on other tanks/upgrades.

Here are some infos from morozov:

Hope this helps, (and sorry for not working link, I just havenīt figured out how this works :-P)

Best regards,

Andreas
