Greets everyone,
Is the Indian Army still scheduled to receive T90S Bichimas this year? So both the Pakis and the Indians will be using this MBT to replace/upgrade aging systems? I have read some reports that the they will replace the aging (and obsolete) Vijayanta-equipped Regiments AND that the trials of the Arjun aren't going as hoped
Will the Indians produce the T90S under license or just buy from the Russians?
Anythoughts???
Chris

Hy Chris!
I dont know if India is going to recieve T-90S this year as well, but as far as I know they bought the license for several hundreds of million dollars. But I dont know If they will build there plants by themselves or if russians install them.
Hope this helps a little bit.
Best regards,
Andy .

The T-90 is not in service with Pakistan. They have ukrainian made T-80UD.

They have bought a batch of completed tanks and knocked down kits directly from russia and the license to produce them as well. The license arrangement also included the complete transfer of T-90 technology and weapon systems to India. The local production of T-90S Bhishma tanks in Avadi, Tamil Nadu should be online by now.

Thanks for the input guys. The reason I started this was I am thinking of planning an Indian T-90S this year using the Miniarm stuff and some scratchn. I like the Indian Camo schemes- something different. There are 6 Tank Regiments in the North and Central regions so I thought I might can pull it off.
Getting down to some details...
I guess ALL T90S s produced after 2002 are Welded turreted unless they are from upgrade programs from existing T72 platforms.
I have seen a picture of an Indian T90 S w/o the Shtora-1 countermeasure devices mounted on the turret fronts (?)
I think the Welded Turret T90 set is on sale right now @HobbyEasy......

I doubt that, since India ordered T-90S without Shtora-1countermeasure devices at all, thus without emitters, and AOA sensors on the front/side roof. Besides the turret, you will also need the front glacis and the new tracks as well. Good luck with your build.

In addition to what Arthur had said, Indian Forces don't need/want anymore of Shtora equipped T-90s for several reasons, economical and tactical; last shipment was already without Shtora. If you want to use Miniarm stuff, but are on the fence about the price- don't be. While frontal plate's pricing may be questionable, the welded turret is well worth its price. In fact, it is probably finest work Miniarm has put out thus far. Plus, you get VERY unique and authentic pieces for spare box which you can use for T-80UK or T-84 build.
