The publishers of the impressive modeling magazine, Xtreme Modeling, have just announced the first in a new series of modeling manuals dealing with some of the more complex areas in diorama work. I've seen the diorama on the cover on the latest issue of Military in Scale! It was presented at the Euromilitaire 2007 and of course it won something!
Amazing!

At the risk of being accused of "humbug", personally I was actually more impressed with that particular dio when I saw photos of it here than I was when I saw it "live" at EuroMil last September.

Don't get me wrong - it's an amazing, original piece of work and is far beyond anything that I myself could even begin to attempt. I just felt that somehow the water finished up a little too murky, thus making it harder to see some of the incredible detail and imagination that had gone into the piece, which was a shame.

I dunno - maybe it's just my eyes or maybe the lighting in the Lees Cliff Hall wasn't the optimum for showing that dio at its best. I just found myself having to really peer into it to make things out, whereas it all comes across far clearer on Web photos.

This is great news, I've seen some bits and pieces and I am looking forward to the review.
