Hello Fellow Modellers, just thought i`d post this for your perusal and edification.I have just got this kit in1/35 scale and can tell those of you who are interested that this is a reboxing of kit no. 03018 with an additional sprue providing the NBC rear end seen on this version.
A different set of decals is included to make one of four schemes, two different colour scemes used in Afghanistan, one from Kuwait and one for the Norwegian army. The devilish suspension has not been changed so this is not one i would recommend for a first time modeller but should look good when finished.
However i`m still think that Revell has missed the bus a little bit by NOT including a british version used in the first gulf war,it`s not as if there are`nt enough pictures out there of this, let`s hope the A/M boys can fill this niche as it`s the version i`d like to do.

From inspecting the instructions on the Revell website I can confirm Dan's statement - that this is the same kit issued a decade ago. (I have three or four Fuchs kits on the shelf.) I have NOT seen this new release in the "flesh/plastic" I hope though that some of the tooling was reworked and that the dreadful waxy plastic is corrected. The Royal Army and the US Army are major operators of the Tpz-1 A6 I consider it a shame that these markings were not included, and hope that Revell will correct these oversights in future releases.

Decals from the Norwegian Army you say? That is pretty interesting since we only got two. I guess I have to get one of these. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi guys
So I take it that this is a reasonable kit? How much would have to be done to convert it to a british one from Op Telic 2003?? I have the decals ready to use from Bisons British AFV's Op Telic set. Cheers, Nick

Nick, IF it is the same as what I have then you have several issues to work through. First the plastic is very soft and almost waxy in texture. Detail is very soft in nearly all respects. You will experience some fit problems. If you have some basic skills then work slowly, and you will be rewarded. Legend has a PE set for it which would be very helpful. The tyres/wheels can be replaced with resin ones, I think RN-Modellbau has them. This kit would also benefit from some good old fashioned scratch building. If you need some reference pictures I have a heap of them (all Bundeswehr) and will gladly share, just send me a PM.

I remember the frustration of trying to get all of the suspension parts to align up properly. As Jon says, the plastic is a different texture, the detail is soft, but I love the look of the Fuchs.

I have been wanting to build one of these for a while, but can't even find one Stateside...

Danny: I don't know if you've started this project yet, but I have a very nice build article on a medical version of the FUCHS in 1/35. Let me know if you're interested in looking at it and I can scan it and send it to your email.

Why don't you submit a FULL Review to the site? We'd be delighted to see it..

Jeremy this thread is over 2 years old and so you are unlikely to get a reply to your question, However I know this kit is still being sold in a Revell box as I saw 10+ of them on Wednesday so you should be able to get hold of one.
