I trying to find the closest match to the Michelin 395/85 R20 tires.
They measure out to be 46.8 inches diameter x 15.3" wide in real life. In 1/35th scale they are 33.96mm diameter x 11.10mm wide.
I checked the new Real Models HEMMT set and they are 35.95mm diameter x 11.10mm wide, with correct pattern.
Italari HEMMT wheels are 36.96mm diameter too big, wrong pattern anyway.
Stryker Pro Art Resin 30.8mm diameter, wronf side walls but good pattern.
Mr.Model (Accurate Armour) Unimog 32.23mm diameter x9.78mm wide with correct pattern.
Any other tires out there that come close? Here's a picture of the real thing for pattern.
Thanks for your help
Bill

Hi Bill
Maybe I'm nit-picking here but are you sure about the tire pattern ? Here's a Michelin XZL (I suppose that's the one you're looking for ) :
Quite close...but not the same.
The 1:1 VAB is fitted with 14.00R20 XL tires (Overall diameter = 49.4" Overall width = 14.7") ...

Please, nit pik away. What I was looking at with the VAB wheels was the actual wheel as well. It looks more like the Bushmaster wheel than any of the others I've seen.
According to Blast models the dimensions of their VAB tires are
Wheels are : Dia : 33 mm (right to left)
Wide (tyre only) : 9 - 9.1 mm
The actual tread pattern of the VAB does look different. The image you have posted, is that the actual spec tire for the Michelin 395/85 R20Bushmaster? On close inspection it certainly looks the part.
Thanks for nit picking

It comes from Michelin's website and shows a XZL tire, that's all I can say It sure looks the same as the one fitted to the pictured Bushmaster.
Here's another (large) Bushmaster close-up picture (from Primeportal) to confirm this if need be :

Now to find a resin 1/35th scale one without having to scratch that too...
What about MR Model Fuchs "new pattern" wheels (set#35136). I'm not sure they're fitted with Michelins, but the pattern look interesting. AFAIK, the 1:1 Fuchs is fitted with 14.00R20 tires :
Unfortunately, you'd still have to modify the rims...

Those do look promising, did you find them on Accurate Armours web site? I could always make a master hub and cast them to suit.
Good hunting.

In fact the picture comes from MR Models website, but this set is indeed listed on Accurate Armour website :
http://www.accurate-armour.com/showarmdistproducts.cfm?manufacturer=27&cat=48&subcat=147
Maybe it's the picture (or maybe it's me..) but the tires look a tad too large when compared to the real ones

I found the Mr Model website and they list two types of new Fuchs wheels 35236 (TPZ.1) what ever that means and
35238 (SPAZ 2A2 Luchs) whatever that means.
They also have the MAN wheels 35262 (MAN 7to.gl) what ever that means. I don't know anything about any of these vehicles but the tread pattern seems similar, now just need to know the size. Would the MAN trucks use larger wheels than the Fuchs or the HEMTT?
This is getting difficult when it is hard to see the photo examples and there is no way to compare sizes and details.

Have you tried the Maple Leaf Models Michelin XML's for the LAV-2 series of vehicles? I don't have a set of MLM's tires anymore (I gave them to a friend) but Jeep (MLM owner) is an extremely friendly and helpful person; I would guess that he could provide you with some measurements.

Good to hear from you. We go way back though you may not know it. Your web site helped me build my Challenger I, thanks for that.
I own both of the MLM's Michelin XML sets and I wish that they did fix the part because they are beautifully made resin wheels. I bought them for a Bison that is partially built in drawer awaiting definitive photos or drawings of the slope on the plate behind the upper hatch.
The MLM tires measure 27.76 in diameter x10.42mm wide and when I placed them against my scale plan drawings they were tiny compared to the Bushmaster tires.
OT.
I listened to a lot of bagpipes when I grew up because my brother was a drummer for the Essex and Kent Scottish Pipe Band in Windsor Ontario.
Thanks for trying

When you get a moment can you please first measure the diameter and the width of the M1070 HET before you mold and cast. I know you are very busy and I do not want to slow down the LAV III production..;o) A generous offer, thank you.

The M1070 is fitted with Michelin 16.00R20 tires( http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/hets.htm ). These tires definitely look like XZLs. According to the useful chart you can find here :
http://www.militarytires.com/
their overall diameter is 52.9" and their overall width is 17.2"...
No go again...but I'm sure you'll find a solution

Those are HUGE wheels! The chart is excellent as well, thanks for confirmation on these monsters.
I received dimensions from Derek Hansen of Accurate Armour about the Mr. Models MRA35136 wheels are 36.2mm dia x 11.6mm wide.
I heard back from Miloslav and he has HET and HEMTT 35,5 x 11,2 mmm
MAN 34x10mm
HET I have as well without disk.
And I'm waiting on one more set of dimensions.
I keep hunting and thanks to everyone for being so forth coming about this information.
