nice pics Joseph...brings back memories!

i see something new...i was out in 2002, so i see a few peices of equipment that were not there when I was...

what is the black box to the left of the SINGARS? and also what is the little box mounted on the left side of the radio mount? (the one with a little toggle switch). Is it for GPS or something? Just currious.

a note to chris...keep in mind that the pictures Joseph posted have many service panels removed. For instance, you wouldnt see the lateral drive (that drive shaft with the U-joint directly under the TC station). Also keep in mind that depending on the era you are trying to model, you will have various changes on the inside (like location/type of radios, slight changes in the deck panels for RMMS upgrade, etc.) And there are huge differences between the AAVP, "C" and "R". It also looks like the turret is rotated and is pointing directly to the 3-oclock (off to the right), so you can see the spent round box and chute (that always filled up and jammed if you were not paying attention!)

one cool thing is if you plan to model your Amtrack "lived in", you can model the kind of gear depending on what infantry unit they are carring...engineers, mortars, rifle, AT, etc.

I have a collection of pics as well if needed. Im sure Gino and Joseph probally have you covered.

The box next to the radios is for the Magnetic heading display thats in the driver station. Its a pain to calibrate. You need alot for room to do it cause you got to like drive in a circle like ten times. Plus the steps are in the TM 1o and the read like stero instructions . The black boxes are for the TC and Drivers DVR's. They replaced the old fish bowls ANVVS's. You know the ones that would fall on you sack if you didnt latch in right. .

They even Change the 50 cal charging handle. Its almost like a kick start lever on a old motorcycle. Its ok it beats the old M10s charging handles. They still break though. So the good old coke bottle or you sawed off 12in crosstip will do the job. oh you the pulgger mount in the turret AT KNEE HIEGHT Does wonders on the knees and head when you climb in and out from the troop compartment.

Well see you around the forums..CHEERS and YAT-YAS!!!!!
