Here's a dio I finished not too long ago. It's a "somewhere in Africa" piece. I scrath built an interior for the armored car uses a nuts and bolts magazine for a reference. The fuel can holders that originally came in the kit were replaced with strip styrene and better feul cans from Italeri. The kneeling figure was slightly modified to offer the dog a pan full of food. the others are obviosly stock. i had alot of fun building this dio. learned alot as it contains my first attempts at scratch building and figure modifications. Anyway enjoy and any tips and comments and how to do betters will be most welcome.

Hi Corporal SFC,
I cant get into your link, it says page unavailable. After the http part should it maybe meant to say www ? I tried that but no luck, can you repost the link. As it sounds like it'll be really good. Cheers, Kenny.

Oeps, You made a mistake in your URL, here it is
http://community.webshots.com/user/albcasummit
I like those 222's, not to big but nice and fast, I love the dog, where did you get him from?
The only thing that I could say is that you could dust the vehicle up a bit and maybe a bit more wear and tear (chipping -not to much!)
In the pictures your fig's seem to have a sheen, maybe it is only in the pictures.
I like your groundwork and layout, simple but good.

I edited the url, thanks didn't realize my goof. The sheen on the figures is from the sunlight hitting them........I think. still learning how to take good pictures. The dog is from the same kit as the figures which are from DML. Also in the kit is a cool little lizard. I included it in the dio but he is practicly invisible in the photos.

Nice diorama. Great subject, good use of figures in a small space. Well done. Lots of details and added goodies.
I agree with the one post about dusting things up a bit. The tires look a bit on the clean site. Very minor thing, doesn't detract from the project.
Good job.

yup, I agree with all of you the tire do look like they have been recently armor-all'd by the DAK's finest. I'll definatly go back and fix that. Also the lizzard is towards the rear of the vehicle. he blends in pretty well with the ground so he is hard to spot. Kind'a just looks like a little squiggle in the ground work in the photo's actually.

I think you put together a great little story here. Like everyone else .....go back and weather the vehicle. that hot sun and the sand blasting would have a strong effect on the paint job and wear on the tires. Enjoyed all your postings

Cool little dio and a wonderfull scene.. I have used these figs too for a dio once and it`s good set (recommendation for anyone)
I can`t add to much now as most of the things I want to say already are said.. I fully second the dust up of teh vehicle and tyres and you could make a bit chipped and worn paint along the edges of your vehicle.. The chipping can be easily done by grabbing a small brush and some german grey and paint small areas on the edges of teh mudguards and stuff
Looks really well though you have done certainly done a great job
Congrats

I'ld like to also reccomend the africa korp kit by DML. It really has alot of useful extras, and the poses of the figures are great. Faust thanks for the tip on the chipped paint. .
