I am working on a WW1 pilot figure, and his uniform and overcoat should be a german grey as opposed to a field grey.
I have an interest in using oils over an acrylic basecoat for this, but am unsure of the colour combinations.Does anyone have suggestions?
I am considering Paynes grey, blue, and white in a 4:1:1 ratio.
The reason for my mediachoice is the ease in which folds can be shadowed and highlighted.
I plan on using Mr Bannermans approach for the flesh.

For what it's worth, Jim, Tamiya makes an acryllic German Grey, color number XF-63. I'm sure Modelmaster will have something similar in an enamel. I almost think that's what they mean by Dunkelgrau.
