Now that is a nice looking tank. Can you build it OOB using the Tamiya kit?
BTW, I don't think Canada uses the Leo 2A5.

Just looking quickly at the photos I can see that the smoke poppers are different, but they look like they could be converted pretty easily. I think also that the chock block mounting on the back of the turret is different also, but not sure, I don't have my references upstairs right now.
Canada does not use the Leo 2.

Hi Major Rob
You need to make some little alterations to the tamiya Leo ,like the smoke pots (they are included in the Italeri kit nr? ) the wheel chock blocks are moved to a different location,
you need to make a Motorola radio box on top of the turret, and some new antenna mounts,(U.S.style from verlinden) A very good article is included in Military Modelling of march 2003,vol.33 No.02 28th Feb-20th Mar 2003 by Bernd Zaeske.
If you are interested and can't get hold of the article , I can scan it for you.
If so please let me know at : [email protected]

Canada uses the Leopard 1 A5, which is equiped with state of the art thermal image system that is far superior to that of the M1 A1. The tank is designated as the Leopard C2

The Dutch use a FN AAMG with their Leopard 2, the Germans use a MG 3, so the MG must be changed, too.
