Hi all,
Sharing here my version of a Generic M1A1 Abrams in OIF colors. Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with oils and pastels. Built out of the box except for some stowage. Thank to the guys who shared their water and soda boxes in the gallery. I still need to install aerials, straps for stowage and a rolled tarpaulin. As always your feedback is appreciated. Thanks. - Alan

Looks very nice. One comment: The tow bar on the rear looks like it's sticking straight out. I would think it would lean down...

Can we see more pictures. I would like to see some closer shots of the hull. This is simply gorgeous. I love all the fine, yet subtle scratches and stains. Very inspiring.

Hi Al,
nice build, where did you get the water boxes from? Cool thing. I'd turn the CIP panels around, not sure, but I think they're more commen that way. I should get my kit from the stack and start to build ...

Nice work Al, keep it up. You have done a great job with the build and the weathering however the tow bar at the back should hang down due to gravity, and the ALICE packs are rare now, being replaced by MOLLE packs, other than that I think it is one of the best M1A1 that I have seen so far.

@Tony - thanks for the compliment. You're right about the tow bar.
@Preston - streaks where done by dry (very very dry) brushing burnt umber oil paint
Happy Modeling!

Allen, your MIAI looks great. Can't wait to get mine done. I have one in the works in the relatively earlier stages. Can't wait to get back to it in September. I have other projects that have to be done first. How did you mount that roadwheel on top of the turret?

Thanks DJ, James & Joe for the kind words. I have since made minor modifications as seen below.
James, on the real Abrams spare roadwheels are mounted using one of the four bolts located on the turret. Hope the picture below helps.
