Hi there

This wee dio was inspired by my own excursion into a ditch as co-driver of a Bedford MK on Exercise Scottish Rover a good few years back.
30 seconds of terror getting in the ditch,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,5 hours backbreaking work getting out!!!!!

Scratch built body work was added to the Airfix kits from the airfield recovery set and the Scammell tank transporter.

Curious cows investigate what is going on (according to the driver the reason he landed in the ditch at night.

Recovery crew sets about laying out the kit to start the recovery

Gear stowed in the bin normally used for storing the snow chains or the track sets that could be added to the rear drive wheels for better x-country capability. Probably not thought so necessary on a flat airfield or road network by the RAF

I think it is safe to say his load has shifted.

Chassis for Scammellwas shortened slightly

I need to try and source 1/72 scale RAF decals for the trucks. I don't know how the experts get such fine detail onto their braile scale vehicles and dios, but this was fun for my level of expertice and I enjoyed the quick build in this size.

Hope you like

Nige
