Hi all
What colour is the German WWII 1934 pattern ruberised motor cyclist coat? The one with the blue/green collar.
I have seen coats on models in all major scales - painted field grey, olive green and grey.
On the net I have seen examples of real, genuine examples in field grey and olive.
It is enough to make one
I was thinking that if a person painted it in faded colours the collar would be faded as well yet this is not the case in greyish coloured/painted examples.
Your thoughts would be appreciated
I am aware that there are regulations however there are variances.
Good, thanks and ta.

Thanks Phil.
I checked the thread out and my conclusion is Field Grey [in various tones] Olive and Light Grey.
It is a bit like a friend of mine who was issued a SD [Dress] uniform that had matching trouser and jacket. Yea! like get real! The trousers was at least two, going on three, shades lighter than the jacket. So I guess what I am saying, there is a variance cause the coats would all not be the same as there were thousands that were produced. Bit like the argument of what colour Field Grey is.
Now must raise a sweat, get a drop to rub on my freshly painted light grey unshiny/ruberised coat. What a great little trick.

Here is a topic from Jaume Ortiz on how to paint motorcyclist coats. Although the topic is in Spanish you can understand. The color numbers are under the last picture of the page.

I like the combination of light field grey and grey. Great stuff.

Hi Rod

Check out this thread over on timelines as well, also has contributions by J O on his Alpine stuff but also at the very end some pictures from WW2 of interest.
