While I wait for some parts for my Staghound I decided to start building the T70 from Miniart.
The fit is quite good and I'm sure it'll produce a nice model in the end.
What you see in the pictures is the result of 3 hours work (PE soldering and all...)

Thanks guys.
@Neil
The Eduard set I'm using is the 35909 (T-70M Early bended fenders). It's a very comprehensive set that includes all grills and little pieces to replace some of the kit and the fenders. I decided to solder them and it was a blast. Not easy trying to hold while you solder at 500 Celsius (lol) but the result ended up being quite good.
I do like the kit. It's my first Miniart kit and for sure I will buy more. The plastic looks "soft" but actually has a very good consistence. Not to much flash (comparing with Italeri I would say it's negligible) and parts fit is very good. On the hull and turret I didn't have to use filler at all. The track links are crisply molded in spite of their minute size. For the price I paid I would say it's a winner.
The Blast stowage set is another very fine piece. I'm becoming an expert in using stowage sets from Blast Models and they're second to none.
Hey, John, let me guess... West Coast.... Last time I was there (Boston) I went to a place that had a lot of Portuguese living there. It was strange hear my own language so far from home. You'll find a Portuguese everywhere in the world. LOL

Very nice build. Where did you get the tarps and boxed? Are those home made? Thanks, Dmitry

Looking forward to seeing more. I want to build the T-90 AA variant from the MiniArt T-80 kit I have, so this is an informative build for me.
Any comments about the early parts of your build?
thanks, -v-

Hi guys, thanks
@Dimitri
The stowage set is from Blast Models. They make excellent stowage sets for a multitude of models and I like them especially because they are not as "full" as Legends sets and the pieces are incredibly realistic.
Additionally Blast Models has one of the best sales services that I've seen in many years buying on the net. Super fast and reliable.
@Vance
There are minor things on this kit, but none of them is truly bad
There is a little flash in some parts (very small) and the plastic is a bit soft especially on the suspension arms. But being soft are very tolerant when put in to place.
The detail is crisp on all the surface and even the small parts have plenty of detail.
The plastic barrel is a bit crude and is not opened at the end, but if someone wants to build this kit out of the box will have an excellent model. Drilling the barrel is easy and it's shape seems to be very accurate (I compared it with the Aber barrel I'm using and they have the same shape)
I added Eduard parts because I wanted to have real grills. But on the set there were plenty of other small bits and pieces and they add a lot to the final model. The fenders were a pleasant surprise to build and they are very realistic.
The tracks are excellent, although I think that with just two spare links per side, it may become a problem if we broke too many removing them from the sprues,. And they tend to break because they are very delicate and need careful detachment from the sprue.
I would recommend this kit without any reservations. I was very pleased with it and no doubt I'll be purchasing more MiniArt kits.
I've already painted it and applied the whitewash (my first one...) and I'm now moving to the details. Weathering mud etc etc.
I guess I'll have it finished in a couple of days.
Edit: This is the present state. I've started with pigments on the exhausts. Next stage: pin wash and mud on the lower hull.

Just a few finishing touches that are missing, and it's done.

Very nice Antonio. I like the way the stowage is painted, with a frosted effect. Very cold, and very realistic. Is it going on a scenic base?
Cheers
