Friends,
I completed casting my bridge for the Splash Dio. Now I got to put things together and I will start painting.
This is the bridge dio so far:
I'm quite pleased with the results. I'm in an optimistic mood here....

Very nice. That's a cool embankment too. Looking forward to your diorama.
The casting came out great.

Okay - gotta be the spoil-sport here Faust... you NEED to add some supporting arched brickwork (stonework?) to the arches you have cut into your brick walls. I know you just started this phase, so I'm not saying you wouldn't have actuallay gotten around to it... but just wanted to make sure you thought of it early enough so as not to affect your work!
As it now stands, the horizontal bricks would simply fall away with no support the first time a "heavy" rolled across the bridge!

Keith,
you're right about the supporting brickwork. I'll get to that soon. But hey... it's only a $1.50 bridge, so plenty of room for improvement. Creative as well as Financial :-)
About them heavies rolling across that bridge...... sorry, can't be...it's a passengers bridge.... here's the original idea :

Eagle...
Nice setting! This should be a challenge... So are you going to go for the "white water" look... i love seeing that done well - I've always had trouble with that aspect of water myself.
As for creating the "stone arch", here is a cheap/ easy way to create the effect... get a section of Plastruct "tile section" sheet... they are "scored" in 1/4 or 1/2 inch increments, depending on the size you buy... just bend off little tiles squares, trim them with a bit of a wedge shape, then glue them in place around your opening! Your done in 20 minutes!~

A suggestion
would it be possible that you make a kind of photo reportage about how you made the diorama.
the technieke you use to make the water effect, that might give us ( the amateur modellers )a way of learning.
