I built my last comment as a tree.
Using as a basis the trade mark of Noch, after painting the trunk with various tones (this process of painting was not necessary since then modify the trunk having to repaint) give it a pass glue spray deposit and the "dust" foliage of the same brand.
To increase the foliage deposit a mixture of spices cooking pounded.
Then, with putty "diet" trunk, under the irregularities with a brush metal tines, and ultimately what I paint with dark tones to which I overlaying tone more clear until the gray

This is a really nice base, the detail in the building is great.
This is the basic process I use to make a tree, only my products are different brands

I tried something like this aswell some time only with Iron Wire, it wasn't a great succes. What sort of branches do you use to make the trees, they look verry formiliar, but i can't say what it is. Do you buy these or do you take them out of your garden?

Branches are bought, these are brand Noch.
But it can be used branches of the garden that stick pieces of moss to give volume and then continue the same process

What we need at the top are a mixture of spices, the classic that are put in a pizza.
Here are sold in glass boats, I grind up soil mix and reduce them, then the situation on the entire surface of the tree, so I think more varied foliage

this stuff really works great, how did ya do the bark?

It is very easy
Applying a layer of wet paste model with white glue to facilitate their modeling and pasted.
While visiting your site and before it dries you check the "cracks" with a brush metal tines, finally smoothing with a bit of sandpaper.
