Hi guys, I finally finished this one. First of 2008. Its call Hitchin a ride. A group of 82nd airborne troopers are stopping a group of German infantry heading to reinforce the Germans at the coast. The Horch is the old Tamiya kit and the figures are DML with new resin heads. The street is a resin piece from Smith military modeling and the building is an old custom dioramics piece. Let me know what you think

Nice scene, Don! I like the way you have the figures interacting and the mods you made to those paratroopers. Well done! Dave

Agreed! You have done a good job here Don. You get a sense of a frozen moment of a scene which is what we try to achieve with dioramas.
Love the base. You have done a splendid job with it mate.
Couple of things maybe? How about some rubbing some dust into the cobbles especially on the building side. You can then clean the tops of the stones to leave it in the gaps, tying both dusty rubble and clean cobblestones nicely. The only other thing is maybe not have the figures of each army so neatly aligned? Not noticeable until the last overhead shot, where the Germans are in a neat square (difficult as they are all at the doors of the vehicle) and the 82AB in a straight line. There is the possibility of having the squatting Tommygunner behind the lamp post and the chap standing in the vehicle turned to him. Would give an extra sense of 'surrounded' and obvious surrender...
Just throwing this out there
Good stuff

Koen... the road is a resin piece made by Smith Military modeling here in the States.

Don-- very nice. Where did you get the building in the scene? I think the US wepaons would show better if you painted the bolt/receiver area along withe barrel a flat black. Good job.

Thanks for the kind words and advice DJ. The building front is an old Custom dioramics plaster piece.
