I was just wondering if there would be any interest in a figure campaign. I was thinking of "Close Quaters", two figures, maybe hand to hand, something like that. Any ideas along those lines let me know.

You may want to propose the campaign over on Historicus Forma, the figure site of the KitMaker Network, that way you'll be able to include a wider audience, more scales and a broader historical period.

I actually thought about it, but since there is the "Figures" catagory on the Armorama site I decided to just toss it out there. I know that there are a lot of us that build figures for our dioramas or our vehicles, but I'm not sure if there are enough of us who want to dive into this one. Well we'll see...

I thought the Historica Forma was the figures category on Armorama...

edit: oh, nevermind, I see what you mean now. I'll sit back down and be quiet.

Jonathan is correct - there is a Forum for figures here (principally 1/35th) so, I would see a figures campaign along these lines as fitting in perfectly with THIS site.

Great idea - I can't remember the last time we had a campaign that wasn't vehicles

In the intrest of moving forward with this, just exactly how many people do we need on board, before sending in the proposal? I have four (including me) right now. I know it say "traditionally 10" in the campaign help section, but, this being my first run at something like this, I'm not sure how hard and fast that "traditionally" is.

Oh yeah, if you are interested let me know here... I've got Jim, Carl, and Julien.

To generate some interest you might run a thread in the figures and armor section right here on armorama. sometimes things may get overlooked if it is just in the campaign section.

I would be interested in this one. I am not much for building figures but I will give it a try for this campaign. I already have a couple of ideas for it.

Well actually if you want to be like that, your Figure forum charter states "Primarily 1/35 AFV figure subjects. See Historicus Forma for others."

All I said is that, with your charter in mind, if the scope of this campaign is to be extended beyond the confines of 1/72, 1/48 or 1/35 scale AFV or even military figures (i.e. 20th/21st century topics) the poster proposes this on HF - the figure modelling site of Kitmaker, which is not the figure forum of Armorama.

But hey, if you guys want to the campaign to only include 1/72, 1/48 or 1/35 scale AFV or military figures, so be it.

My idea for the campaign was to model a Papuan native fighting off a Japanese soldier on a foot bridge, but since this campaign is for Primarily AFV Subjects I guess I can't participate!

if only this was posted on HF...

I gotta stop reading this stuff on Friday nights...

I'm in. Already working on sketches. A scene of one of those cases where the Russians and germans were holding different levels in buildings in Stalingrad.

Or something like that.

Well fellas, I have to say that I am thoroughly confused. I don't disagree that Historicus Forma would be a good place for this campaign, at the same time I don't think that this is the wrong place. I suppose that I looked at it like a math major doing an english composition, I'm an armor builder that builds figures too, and not visa versa. In the end the numbers are not enough, so, on to Historicus Forma! If the numbers are there I will send for you all... wish me luck!
