Hi everybody,

just like i do it on the Benelux chapter of Big A, I will share with you the progression of a small diorama called 'Angel of Mercy'. Topic of this diorama will be two women helping one or more wounded soldiers and the whole scene is situated in a village or city.

One of the figures included in the vignette will be this set of MK35:

In the barrow(??? is this the right word?) there will be all kinds of stuff like food, water and so on....

Today I started making the barrow:

Build is very easy, but the car isn't quite symmetrical, but that does'nt matter as it hides perfectly a small mistake of me when fitting the wheels:D.

Next post will be the woman belonging to the barrow.

Nice idea, but i cant help remembering the old Monty Phyton movie "The Holy Grail" ... "bring out your deads .. bring out ..."

Will the setting be with allied or german setting ? - which kits are you going to use for the wounded soldiers ?

If you are going to have this as a dio showing the women helping the wounded my initial idea would be to have a wounded soldier on the cart being pushed. It may be a bit "monty Python" but it may only be a flesh wound ("...but you have no arms Sir!........"

Cheers Robbo

Hi all,

thanks for your comments, thoughts and ideas.

My idea for this vignette started with the set 'Angel of Mercy' from verlinden:

http://www.verlinden-productions.com/vp_htm_1801_2400/images/2047.jpg

As the title apealed to me, I decided to use the title of the set for my vignette and I bought this set. However, at Benelux, people told me the wounded guy was American. My idea about the vignette was however wounded german soldiers, left alone by the their fleaing comrades, that were ultimately helped by local people. Therefore, I probably will change the american for a couple of wounded germans. I'm still looking around for some good figures. All ideas are always welcome!

Regarding a building, my idea is to buy a village center fountain, or some sort of thing. MK35 has some nice products, and I just have to decide what to chose. Again any suggestions welcome!

Robbo, I like your idea, but a small company in the Netherlands sells a carrier cycle:

http://www.scale-line.com/weekaktie/weekaktie.htm

and I have the idea to make a vignete that shows two germans on the run, with one wounded in the box. Furthermore I don't want to fatigue my lady in the vignette even further by pushing around a wounded soldier

Bye to you all!

Jelger

Hi all fellow builders,

a small update from this project. I constructed both female figures, which went without big trouble. Only one figure needed some putty between the head and the body, because the head didn't fit very well.

here some pictures:

Yesterday I primed the figures with Vallejo spray paint from a spray-can en today I started painting the figures.

Hi all,

Although I didn't post for a while, that doesn't mean the project had been stopped. On the contrary, slowly but steadily i work on the figures. Today an update, as the first woman has been covered fully with paint.

I've painted the skirt and headwear in white and tried to add some shadow with white mixed with black.

The dress was painted in the base colour mixed with some white. Shadows were then filled with thinly applied base colour. I didn't do any highlights, have some doubts to do so, but maybe you have some thoughts about it. If so, please let me know.

Her face was painted with 1 of 2 base colours of the Andrea Flesh Paint Set. I mixed some base colour with black and then thinly added a bit under the eyes, so simulate fatiqueness.

I added some highlights to the fingers (although hardly visible), have add some shadows.

Shoes have to be improved, going to work on that next. If you have thoughts or comments about the progress so far, please feel free to post it. The figure is now in the stage of improving paint work and therefore comments are always welcome.
