I just got Dragons new Desert Rats set in the mail, and now I'm thinking about using them in some sort of diorama together with a tank. And here the problems start, my strongest side isn' British WW2 armour.
So my questions are, what thanks where used by the commonwealth forces in El Alamein, and what kits are there out there, preferly that can be built straight out of the box, or minor conversions.
Really thankful for any help on the subject

The British were using Shermans already at El Alemein, if you'll forgive me posting a link to another recent thread on the subject, you may find this helpful:

Italeri's Crusaders are suitable. The VM/Maquette Valentine kit can be used, but it is a challenge to build. The Dragon boxing has a better set of tracks and a figure, if you can find it. There aren't any Sherman kits that can be built stock as El Alamein tanks, as these need the original direct vision ports for the drivers, so you'd have to do a resin conversion.

I know that my LHS GOT Revells reissue of Italeris Crusader Mk III, would this work, or this version wasn't used at El Alamein?

Hei Marija
From memory the Crusader Mk III arrived in Africa in time for the second battle of El Alamein, so you should be right as a timeframe.
Cheers

Although only six in number, Churchills played a significant part. S ee KIingForce at;
