Are troops in iraq using a urban color acu? Im tring to paint my figures and im having a hard time with the colors, some look more of a greyish color while some do not.I know of fading has something to do with it.But could they be using a urban color ACU.I'm using model color paint .I think my base paint is OK,deck tan with a little gray-green but the other colors CLUELESS! help please, thanks

To my knowledge they are not using urban ACU uniforms. I know that I had read a story earlier in the year that the Navy was going to start using a "urban" ACU type pattern (digital pattern using grays), but it was supposed to be a general utility uniform like the new Air Force ABU uniform. So I assume it would be used on board ships an on base.

Nice uniform though.

Edward,
Army has only one ACu uniform. Deck tan is a good start for a base color, that is what I used on mine. I used Vallejo Green Gray for a the lighter green with a little bit of Valejo Olive Grey. The for the darker "green", I used Loive grey with a little bit of Green Gray.

Yea, they do dry a little fast but I squirt out just a little bit and I mix it with a little water a nd the glob of paint tends to last just a bit longer before it starts to dry.
